New Print of 70's Pop Art Department Store Prop Print Liza Halston Era

New Print From 70's Pop Art Department Store Prop Print        $150.00

New print made from a vintage original drawing from the 1970's - this was a department store window display prop print. There were multiple prints made from the same sketch for a Liza tribute series of display window. The drawing was first created in pencil from a newspaper photo, then refined for simplicity. A drawing then was made in India Ink to be copied multiple times - leaving the lips blank & later painted in by hand on each one. The prints then were mounted on foam board and stacked & repeated "Warhol" style on the back wall of each display window. The broader idea was to have a mannequin dressed to resemble Liza with other mannequins grouped around her as if they were trying to get her autograph (see pic). A red vinyl floor was added for a color blocking dynamic. At the time Liza was appearing at the Schubert theater in her musical play "Shine It On" which became "The Act" when it reached Broadway later that year (1977).

There will be multiples of this print for sale. It is not limited. It measures 27" H x 20" W.

Condition: This copy was made from the original 1977 black ink drawing. As such, there are a few tiny specs that remain on the original - though they are barely noticeable. This copy is made on heavy duty copy paper & then the lips were hand painted onto the copy. There are some very minor dents in the paper from transporting. Print in Very Good Condition as a reprint of a 1970's original. Please email with any questions in regard to condition before bidding.

Shipping: FedEx Ground Sample Rate Chicago - LA , Insurance & Handling $12.50 - yours could be more - or less - depending on location & final selling price. Print will be packaged flat with acid free paper & stiff cardboard inner liners, bubble and a stiff ULine outer cardboard customized box

Vintage 60's Abstract CityScape Impasto Palette Knife Painting Eames & Mad Men Era

Vintage 1960's Abstract Impasto Palette Knife Painting   $199.00

Vintage 60's Ab Ex Cityscape painting. Oil on canvas. Signed: D. Hinton in lower left corner. Painting measures: 12" H x 16" W, unframed. Almost exclusive use of sometimes very heavy impasto build up with other palette knife strokes. A gold & brown background wash with golds, brick red, cream, & dark brown buildings reflecting into a lower water area.

I have sold this type of painting before. "D. Hinton" may or may not existed - they were usually done in a commercial setting by a group of people - or one artist did various interpretations of similar paintings. It would almost certainly would have had a nice linen matte - maybe two - with an ornate frame. They were usually retailed in better department stores and home furnishing decorating studios. This is an excellent example of this type of painting.

Condition: Everything I sell is vintage and has lived a previous life. Wear is to be expected with years of previous use. There is nothing that I can detect that is wrong with this painting. Very Good to Excellent Vintage Condition. See all pics. Please email with questions or concerns on condition.

Shipping: FedEx Ground Home Delivery, Insurance, Handling: $16.50 - this is a sample rate from IL to CA - yours could be more - or less - depending upon your location & final selling price. If you would like it shipped to a business address let me know and you can save $$ on shipping.
