Great colors throughout: blues, greens, greys, purple, orange & red.

Condition: Everything I sell is vintage - it has lived a previous life. Painting in Very Good Vintage Condition.

Jean Capdeville Lithograph Print

"L'eau claire II" by Jean Capdeville, (French, 1917 - 2011)                      Sold

The piece is not dated - but with the research that I've done on the artist's work, I would say that it dates from the late '60's to the early '70's time period.

Unframed. Paper measures 35.75" w  x 25" h. Print area measures 25.25" w  x 17.25" h.

This piece is so beautifully printed that it almost looks like a watercolor.

Inscribed title in pencil by the artist on the reverse & signed, bottom right & numbered, bottom left, 16 / 50 on the front.

There are several water marks on the paper - they indicate the French paper company BFK Rives. This is a high quality acid free cotton paper.

Very good vintage condition.

Kartell "Rocchetto" Stool

It's Kartell as I suspected when I purchased it but it is not signed. After finding a similar stool in a Elle Decor UK magazine from 2011 featuring the designs of the Mid Century Italain designer Achille Castiglioni, I googled Castiglioni, and found the same stool (with the original red knit fabric) on vintage design web store, Vintage Views in New Jersey, priced at $880.00. Googling further, I found out that it was designed in 1967 by both Castiglioni & Joe Columbo, manufactured by Kartell and imported to the States by Beylerian Limited.

It is also featured in Cara Greenburg's book "Op To Pop" - 'Furniture Of The 60's & 70's' -  shown as a photo from a Macy's floor display. The stool is sometimes referred to as "Rocchetto" - reel, sprocket, bobbin or spool. The cushion comes off and it can be used as an occasional table.

Replacement fabric. 1 small crack in middle joined area, light fading & surface wear consistent with age & use. Very Good Vintage Condition.
