Kartell "Rocchetto" Stool

It's Kartell as I suspected when I purchased it but it is not signed. After finding a similar stool in a Elle Decor UK magazine from 2011 featuring the designs of the Mid Century Italain designer Achille Castiglioni, I googled Castiglioni, and found the same stool (with the original red knit fabric) on vintage design web store, Vintage Views in New Jersey, priced at $880.00. Googling further, I found out that it was designed in 1967 by both Castiglioni & Joe Columbo, manufactured by Kartell and imported to the States by Beylerian Limited.

It is also featured in Cara Greenburg's book "Op To Pop" - 'Furniture Of The 60's & 70's' -  shown as a photo from a Macy's floor display. The stool is sometimes referred to as "Rocchetto" - reel, sprocket, bobbin or spool. The cushion comes off and it can be used as an occasional table.

Replacement fabric. 1 small crack in middle joined area, light fading & surface wear consistent with age & use. Very Good Vintage Condition.
