Jean Capdeville Lithograph Print

"L'eau claire II" by Jean Capdeville, (French, 1917 - 2011)                      Sold

The piece is not dated - but with the research that I've done on the artist's work, I would say that it dates from the late '60's to the early '70's time period.

Unframed. Paper measures 35.75" w  x 25" h. Print area measures 25.25" w  x 17.25" h.

This piece is so beautifully printed that it almost looks like a watercolor.

Inscribed title in pencil by the artist on the reverse & signed, bottom right & numbered, bottom left, 16 / 50 on the front.

There are several water marks on the paper - they indicate the French paper company BFK Rives. This is a high quality acid free cotton paper.

Very good vintage condition.

The glass and matte board were too damaged to retain. The brass frame is in very good condition. The print itself is in very good excellent condition with no apparent color fading. The back side of the print has evidence of the tape used to keep the print to the matte board.
